Christmas!

December has been a busy, but fun month.  We had our first family pictures as a family of four.  Here are a few...

Laila turned one month old on the 17th and has now outgrown all of her newborn sized clothes.  :(

Jacoby loves holding his baby sister.

Then, of course, it was Christmas!  Adam had to work, but he was able to stop in and open presents with us.  Here we all are on Christmas morning.

Then we went over to my parents' house to celebrate with them.  Matt, Victoria, and Elaina were there, too.  Jacoby loved playing with his cousin, Elaina.  They were so cute running around together.

Laila is here!

Laila Grace Silva arrived on November 17, 2010 at 10:49 a.m.  She weighed 9 lbs. 8 oz. and was 19.5 inches long.  We were so ready for this day to come!  We fell immediately in love of course- so did Jacoby.  This picture of her looks VERY similar to the picture we took of Jacoby in the operating room just minutes after his birth.

Here are the proud parents.  Adam looks a little tired, lol!

My parents were there and Adam's parents were able to travel out here for Miss Laila's birth!  It was so great to have both sets of grandparents here for her arrival- and to keep Jacoby entertained.

Jacoby was absolutely adorable with her.  He stayed very still while she was in his lap.  He gives her kisses all the time and always makes sure to share his toys with her especially if she's crying.

I already know that we're going to have our hands full, but it is totally worth it!

2nd Haircut and Build-A-Bear

We took Jacoby today for his 2nd haircut.  He had fun playing in the little car and watching a Baby Einstein dvd during his visit.  He also got to play basketball with Daddy before and after his haircut.  We really liked this place!
After the haircut, we went to the mall.  We visited Build-A-Bear so Jacoby could make a Hello Kitty doll for his little sister.  We had previously recorded her heartbeat at an ultrasound, so we put that in the kitty.  Jacoby was so cute there.  He was hugging and kissing all of the animals.  He did not stop moving the whole time we were in that store.  Mommy and Daddy couldn't resist his cuteness and we ended up getting him a "Chococat".
He loved pushing the red button and watching the hearts fly.
Then he had to push all of the other buttons.
He was so excited about his Chococat!!!

Summer

Since I've been a total slacker and didn't post anything ALL summer, I figured I better give a brief overview of our summer before I move to now.  Adam's dad worked so hard on our bathroom when they came to visit at the end of May.  Jacoby LOVES his new bathtub!  We were so lucky to have him to do that for us!

In June, we went to Wisconsin with my parents and Matt, Victoria, and Elaina.  Elaina and Jacoby had lots of fun together!  We had to work really hard to get them to look at the camera at the same time.

This is the best game ever created by Grandpa.  He entertained the kiddos for a long time with these bowling pins!
Our family!
In July, we went out east to visit Adam's family.  First, we all went camping in Maine.  Jacoby had fun hanging out with his cousins out there.
Jacoby loved playing with Mammy- especially when she fed him.  :)

I actually enjoyed not having to do my makeup or hair for a few days!

Jacoby got his very own camping chair.

He also went on many wagon rides with his cousins.

Jacoby loves his Pappy!

We spent just about a day and a half at Adam's parents' house before flying back home.  Jacoby played in their backyard a bunch.

We worked really hard to get this picture!  It's Jacoby with all of his Silva cousins: Abby, Jonah, Hannah, and Noah.

Before the summer ended, we took Jacoby to get his first haircut.  He did such a good job and loved playing in the little Jeep while the nice lady cut his hair.  I was shocked that he did so well!  Unfortunately, I don't have an after picture because the battery in my camera went dead after just a couple shots.  :(

Here is Jacoby snuggling with his big teddy and watching Sunday morning cartoons.  You can kind of see his fresh haircut here.

He finally left his baseball cap on for a few minutes.
Just as school was starting, Matt, Victoria, and Elaina came out for another visit.  This time Jacoby was walking really well, so they got to run around together.  It was fun watching them give each other hugs and kisses.

Jacoby's 1st Birthday!

Jacoby turned 1 on May 18. I can't believe it has already been a year! We just had a small celebration with my parents on his actual birthday, then his big party was on the 29th. Here are a couple pictures from his actual b-day.
On Saturday, the 29th, we had about 30 people over for a cookout for Jacoby's b-day.  Adam's parents were visiting and Great Grandma and Grandpa Rust were also able to make it.  Adam grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, and my wonderful mother and mother-in-law made every kind of salad you could think of to go with it.
Jacoby had fun with his very own cake.  He got a bath when he was finished.
Then it was time to open presents!!
Jacoby loved the red wagon that he got from Mammy and Pappy.
